Literature Text

How many years had it been now? It was more than ten but less than twenty. It was tiring to try and keep count. He didn't see the point. Not anymore. Time was stopped for him so why bother?
A fire crackled in the fireplace of the old building, it's light and heat flooding into the room while the shadows danced along the walls. It was silent except for the ticking of the grandfather clock. Oh the irony of it all. Here again in a living room, reading a book, with the chiming of the clock for each slow hour that passed.
William's blue eyes read along the words, scanning them and seeming to memorize them. He had grown exceptionally since that last event in his home town. His hair was grown out and hung about his face, the strands usually falling to hide his eyes. He looked even more like a young man now. Ciro told him his aging would stop in the next year or so, finally looking to be an adult though he seemed that way already.
So it was just the four of them again as Wolfgang, Demetra, and Ciro had taken him into their home now. Ciro had told him that even when he was fully taught on the vampiric ways, he would still not know any other place than this. He didn't doubt Ciro's words as Will had nowhere else to be or to go.
William peered over his book to stare at Wolfgang who was just basking in the glow of the fire. He had his eyes closed but they fluttered ever so slightly, so he wasn't asleep. Possibley more like day dreaming. The more Will thought about that symbol in the woods Wolfgang had shown him, the more he had become interested. However, he waited to ever ask Wolfgang about any of it. It hadn't been his place and with so much else to learn, something like that hadn't been the most important.
As soon as he shut the book, Wolfgang turned his head to the other vampire. "You get bored Willy?" He asked, tucking his hands together behind his head. "Well, after reading the story the tenth time, I suppose you can say so." He chuckled as he set the book aside.
Wolfgang scoffed and sat up, staring over at him. "You read the same damn book over and over again, what do you expect?" He muttered, an annoying tone hinted slightly. William just smirked at him. "You don't read at all so I wouldn't be one to talk." He retorted. The blue haired vampire rolled his eyes. "It isn't like I can't read. I can read quite well, I just decide not to." He explained, pushing himself to stand up and stretch a bit.
"Don't get up just yet. I want to talk to you about something Wolfgang, if I may?"
He stared at William but smiled. "Anything for you Will." He sat himself in the loveseat nearest him, putting his feet up on the table in front of him. "Shoot."
William sat for a moment as he thought of how he would word the questions exactly. "Alright. You remember that symbol you showed me a while ago? At those grounds before Ciro pulled me back to England?" He paused here as Wolfgang nodded and made a hand gesture for him to continue. Will sat back. "What was that all about? You said it was for some vampires who worship Satan. But, what are the basics it is known on? And, are you one?"
Wolfgang went silent at these questions, grimacing and looking around with a scratch at the back of his neck.
"Well~ That's quite a heavy load of questions. But, I did say anything." He mumbled then shook his head.
"There are, indeed, vampires who worship Satan and you are correct if you think I am one." Here he again paused to lift his glass from the ground that was filled with a crimson liquid. Crossing his legs, he sat up more and sipped from the glass. "You see, I and quite a lot of vampires, believe that if the big man God didn't make us, then someone had to. Who would create us to shy from the cross that is not embedded within a pentagram and water in its purest form, along with a simple herb." He laughed at the idiocy of it all. "To create a creature that survives on blood alone, that can never see another sun rise again, to deprive us of that. What sort of Lord would make us this way?"
William opened his mouth to answer put Wolfgang put a hand up.
"Rhetorical, Will." William's mouth shut and Wolfgang continued on.
"For us to suck the life out of a person to survive, does that sound like something a Holy Lord who gives life would want in his world? I would think not. Hell, I think I was taken in by one of the Devil's minions." He wiped his lips with his coat sleeve.
The other vampire blinked. "You mean Ciro?"
Wolfgang scoffed. "No, I mean the boogey man. Yes Ciro!" His words were practically shouted at William. "You remember what he did to your friends a while-" "They aren't my friends."
There was a silence. "They aren't my friends. Not anymore. They're dead, and that was the past. What he did has been forgotten by me." He said, his voice soft.
"Well, in any case, what he had done then. He is mentally unstable and all three of us know it along with the rest of the vampire community. There is a lot more to him than he lets on, obviously. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a little Demon on a mission for Satan. Not like I'd mind either way.
"You see William, I came from a poor family. My father used to beat my mother, my little sister, and myself. I wasn't a single child like you and Demetra. My sister was very sick, and because of my father's beatings against my mother, he made it unable for her to even try to get any kind of work. Soon, he lost his job and started yelling at me. Telling me I was old enough to work as well, asking why I was sitting on my ass instead of doing something to help the family. He didn't know I did work."
William found himself sitting forward more and more as Wolfgang revealed more of himself to him.
"Out of anger, he slugged me on the side of my head with a blunt object. I had never been in so much pain." Absentmindedly, he reached up and stroked at the left side of his head. "He hit me directly in the ear, I just about got a concussion. I couldn't work because of it. As I saw my sister get weaker and weaker, see my mother get beat, and deal with a shocking pain everyday, I wondered what kind of lord would let that happen. As my sister soon started to die, I ran away, trying to find anyone to help. I didn't want her dead. I found myself in the middle of the town, dark as a pitch and raining heavily. No matter how I shouted, screamed, no one came.
"I had just about given up before I heard the footsteps of the Demon. Echoing off everything. Slow, taunting, as if waiting for me to speak. Which I did. I called out, wanting his attention. And those golden orange orbs stared at me, glowing through the darkness. Lighting struck through the sky and light the town for a moment. But I will never forget that look on his face, grinning down at me until he kneeled down. He told me of everything I already knew, of things he somehow had found out on his own.
"'There is another way for you. Your sister can be healed, be with you and your father can get what he deserves. Is that what you want? Would you give anything for this?' He asked me. Of course I would, and I told him so. 'Even your humanity?' he asked me. In a heartbeat, I answered yes. That heartbeat was the last I had as he changed me. I remembering waking myself to the sound of thunder as it crashed in the clouds above my head. I thought of nothing else but what I was meant to do. I could feel the change. I didn't question it. There was a God then for me."
He paused a moment and sat back, tangling a hand into his hair. These memories had been so long ago covered away. He took a deep drink from the glass and set it down. Grimacing, he continued.
"My father was beating my mother when  I returned home, drenching from the rain and my neck bleeding. Though, my father didn't notice. Even as he towered over me, trying to seem tall, I felt no fear. I felt a new feeling within me. He swung his hand to backhand me on the side of the head where he had previously injured me, my mother shouted at him to stop but, with a speed I didnt even know I had, I had caught his wrist. My grip was tight, I was barely moving but I felt an empowerment as he was soon squirming in my grip. I pressed back on that hand, harder and harder, until my father was squealing and going to his knees in pain. And then, there was the crack as I broke his hand and bent it back at an awkward angle.
"I soon then tore the hand off. I did nothing as I stood there, watching him squirm on the ground and I put my foot to his head, tempted to see if I could crush his skull. I wanted it so bad. I wanted to kill him. But I simply let him lay there and bleed to death. I looked back at my mother but she was still stricken with fear but now it was for me. She literally fled from the house, to get away from me. I didn't care though. I had something else to do. I went to my sister's bedroom to see her sleeping there, I could hear her forced breathing from the door. She was trying hard to stay alive but she was losing. I don't know what came over me as I walked to her and touched her forehead. She was cold but I didn't take notice of that as I leaned over her, nearing her neck. I could hear it, her heart, weak but there still. And...I bit her."
There was another pause of silence, the ticking of the clock seeming louder. Wolfgang touched at his lips lightly as he pondered at these thoughts.
"My plan...the plan that seemed implanted in my brain, was to save her. Turn her into a vampire. Make her healthy. Keep her with me....Jayda. Now I remember, her name was Jayda. Anyways, I waited hours, sitting there and waiting for her to wake up. To laugh and be happy to be alive, but she didn't move. Soon, my attitude I had faded as I waited and I soon became anxious. I was checking every point of her, hearing at her heart, hearing her breath normal, watch her eyes flutter.....there was absolutely nothing. My sister had died a few seconds before I bit her. Though I didn't want to believe it, I shook her, shouting at her to get up. To open her eyes. My tears dripped on her face and even then she did nothing.
"I felt him in the doorway, watching me as I became more and more distraught. 'Why would God let this happen? Why would he let my sister die like this?!' I was shouting at no one in particular, but I had needed to shout. His answer? 'Why not?' In anger, I turned to him to see if he was just joking with me, purposely trying to rile me. He has an answer for everything, that man. 'Why not? God is God, He can play with anyone he so chooses. But, perhaps there is another purpose for your sister's death.' He walked to me and touched my shoulders, turning me to look at my sister's body. 'She was an innocent soul, as pure as the Angels that grace the Gates of Heaven. However, why should God recieve these sweet souls? After what he has done to you? Think now of the other power. This one giving you an immortal life, a life to show your strengths...that gave you the power to do away with a man that has done nothing but put you down?'
"He was right. He was absolutely right. Satan is the source of our creation. He is the one given us this life in the darkness where He so rules. To drink from the pure essence of life and defys of God's objects. Us vampires who believe in this, we recruit each other, we create a ritual. A Pure soul, one untouched by the thoughts of evil, a sure to be Angel, is made to stay on the cross while their blood is spilt to the ground within the pentegram." He explained, knowing William already knew what the area looked like.
He stared up at him again, William being literally on the edge of his seat as he listened to him.
"Ciro helped me bury my sister and we left. He took me in, I met Demetra, and have been living here my whole life. Satanic vampires aren't as rare to come by as you might think. However, those who do the rituals are much more...decieving and thoughtful than you may think. So, you need to always be careful, though vampires are out of the question for the rituals, as our souls are already tainted." Wolfgang stood up now, gulping down the last of his drink and throwing the glass on the love seat as her began out.
William just stared after him. Though he considered Wolfgang a close friend now, more than ever after leaving everything behind, he felt a twinge of caution in the pit of his stomach. Wolfgang smiled back at him from the archway. "Enjoy your book William." He chuckled and disappeared just as the clock went off in a series of chimes.
Is it true?!
It can't be!
A new chapter?!

yes, yes it is! It is 12:56 in the morning and I'm tired as Hell. But! I decided to get back into the series, as I am writing another story in a journal at school, lol.

Anyways~
Yes, this is a Wolfgang chapter. A look into the vampire we love to hate |D Along with Ciro, haha.
I wanted to give him a justified background which would lead him into his belief in Satan being the Lord of the Vampires, in a sense. Hope you all enjoy!!
