Yvette sat at the table in the kitchen as her aunt was doing dishes. "Aunt Mary," She said, tapping her pencil against the table. "Yes Yvette?" Her aunt said, not turning away from the dishes. "Um, I wanted to ask you something…about my dad." She said softly. Mary stopped doing dishes and just stood there. Yvette looked to her. "You ok?" She asked. Mary sighed then nodded. "Yes, I'm fine. You wanted to know about your dad?" She asked. Yvette nodded. "I need to know. All I've heard about is my mother. No one has said anything about dad." She said.
Mary sighed. "Yvette…to tell you the truth, your uncle and I barely know anything about your father." She said. Yvette looked to her as if she was crazy. "What? How can you not know anything about dad?" She asked. Mary sighed. "Well, your dad was the very secretive type. He never really spoke much with us. He was handsome and smart, I'll give you that, but he just wasn't talkative." She explained. Yvette blinked. "So…you don't really know anything about him? His back round? Family?" She asked to which Mary shook her head. "No, I'm sorry sweetheart." She said. Yvette sighed, letting the pencil fall from her hand as she went to her room again.
She closed her door behind her, hearing it close with a small click. She walked to her bed, pulled out a drawing pad and began to draw the man from the other day. With every shade and detailed it looked more and more like him. An hour flew by before she had even noticed. But the picture was done. The teenage boy stood there, seeming to be looking over his shoulder, his body turned to the side. His hair hung about his face and blew a bit behind him. Yvette had caught the knowing look in his eyes. It seemed as if she was staring at the real thing. She recalled his words and his actions. His cold touch. She shook her head as she dropped the drawing pad in shock when her phone went off.
Moving quickly, she picked it up and answered it. "Hello?" She asked. "Hey Eve! Listen, my mom has the day off and its Saturday. Want to head to the mall?" Her best friend's voice said on the other end. Yvette couldn't help a small smile. "Sure, I'd love to. Besides, I want to talk to you about something." She said. Roxanne laughed. "Alright, we'll be there in a few." She said and hung up. Yvette looked at her phone before closing it shut and sighing. She looked at the picture again and shivered lightly. She closed the pad and looped it shut. She set it in a backpack and threw it over her shoulder. She walked out and towards the front door. "Bye Aunt! Roxanne and I are going to the mall!" She called. "Alright, you know the rules." Mary called back. "Of course." Yvette said, before walking out to the front of the house and sitting on the lush grass, staring up at the semi cloudy sky, waiting for Roxanne.
Why was this all happening now? A strange boy appeared in her life and wasn't about to give her any answers. Why had she dreamt of him? Her father then dwelled into her mind. Who was he? How come no pictures were in her midst? Only ones of her mother. "Yo Yvette!" She looked up to see Roxanne waving at her from a rolled down window of a red mustang parked in front of her house. Yvette smiled as she stood and ran over, getting in the back. "Sorry, getting lost in thought." She laughed, rubbing the back of her head. Roxanne laughed and punched her friend jokingly in the shoulder. "You always seem to be doing that nowadays. Sooner or later you're going to be permanently lost." She joked. Yvette smiled, rubbing her arm. "Hey, you know me." She said shrugging.
After ten minutes, they stopped at the mall where the two girls got out. "Later mom!" Roxanne called as she ushered Yvette into the mall. "Ok, now tell me what." Roxanne said as she sat them both on a bench. Yvette smiled nervously. "Well, should have been expecting this. But…ok, I met this boy the other day. He seemed…mysterious. I can't really place it. But it's getting odd. He was the one that saved me from the three burly guys." She said, looking away. "Oh my God! No way! That is so cool. What'd he look like?" She asked eyes wide with excitement and curiosity. "I drew him. Here." She said after she fished out the drawing pad and opening to his picture. Roxanne looked at it. "Wow. You sure this is the guy? Why is he wearing a straight jacket? Was he insane?" She asked.
Yvette rolled her eyes and put the picture back. "I don't know. I barely even met him. He was…odd. Like I said, I cant place it. I've only heard his voice four or five times and it was only for a split second." She explained then sighed. "But, he has some sort of connection with me." She explained, running a hand through her hair. Roxanne blinked and looked down, not able to find anything to say to her friend at this point. "Well, just forget it for a bit. Were at the mall. Just get your mind off him for a little." She said with a small smile. Yvette looked to her then smiled, nodding. "Ok, I guess I could try." She said, standing with her friend. But no matter how much they did that day, she couldn't forget the boy, his words, and their connection.
Alrighty, chapter four. Yvette is wanting to know more about her dad, but finds her aunt basically knows nothing. Fianlly showing out a little more, she tells Roxanne about the mystery boy.

Again, sorry if this story sucks. It'd be better in first person view, but it'd be hard to do. Try to enjoy anyways. XD
